My favourite thrill is when a customer walks in the door and says to me, you must be the owner! Why? Because they’ve connected me to the surroundings. Because they’ve connected me to the surroundings, Fabrications and I, are one and the same. Years ago, I worked for Laura Ashley in England. My love of colour and fine fabrics was born. Thru the years, I quilted, sewed my own clothes, reconstructed vintage finds, dyed fabrics: you get it, I loved all things fibre. Along came children and yes, the sewing continued.
Fast forward: the kids are all grown, I now have a small farm with horses, geese, dogs, cats and lots of gardens and now, I rarely sew. I bounce between Fab and Farm girl everyday. In my garden, the plants make me think of new colour combinations for the shop, when I am mucking out my horse stalls, I get great ideas or come up with solutions, walking my dogs in the forest, I marvel at how many shades of green exist.In short, creating with beauty is my passion. Many a window display for the shop, includes going from room to room in my house, looking for those perfect ‘props’ to give my display life and character. I am truly that English country girl, that loves a little chaos, has a quirky sense of humour, keeps a pair of wellies at every door, wears a cashmere sweater down to the barn (because every day is a cashmere day), puts on lipstick to walk the dogs and gets that thrill every time we open a new box at the shop. I am where I am meant to be!
KATRINA PRICE
Hi I am Katrina, the youngest fab girl at our lovely boutique. You could say I am Jane's right hand woman, the assistant administrator. What does that mean really? Well, I'm not too sure yet either. I do know I get to come into work every day and be surrounded by lovely women and wonderful clothing. My life has always been and will most likely always consist of fashion, food and family. My fab family I am forever grateful of, as well as my tiny family at home of two dogs a cat and my wonderful boyfriend. oh yeah did I mention, that he is Jane's son. I promise it wasn't the only reason I got this wonderful position.
My journey with clothing has mostly been positive, my life has and will, always consist of fashion, food and family. I have never been the 'perfect' body shape and I believe that's because, there is no such thing. We all deserve to feel beautiful. That is the atmosphere Fabrications will always believe in. EVERY women who walks through our door deserves to feel joy and to feel beautiful. I am here for all ladies and I am willing to go the extra mile to find what you are looking for to make you smile.
